Shark Rescue is an initiative from Sigei Media, a communications company based in Hong Kong.
Our mission is to protect sharks and the oceans from unsustainable human activities. We are calling for a ban on shark fishing because the unchecked fishery has already decimated shark populations the world over, effectively upsetting the balance of marine habitats.
Through our products and campaigns, we ask if we will allow the end of sharks - will we risk losing even one species?
As Hong Kong is the greatest trader in shark-fin and other products, the city is particularly responsible for fueling the destruction of the world's seas and oceans. Our call to action is to have the Government lead towards a sustainable future.
We support the island nation of Palau as it tries to protect its waters from the shark trade. The government of Palau announced through the UN that their waters are now a shark sanctuary. The marine territory is the size of France, but the small country faces a major challenge: They only have one patrol boat. By supporting Shark Rescue, Palau will receive more resources and attention. We are calling on the general public and the Hong Kong Government to join us in our support of Palau. As with all our partners and members, we endeavor to champion our Action Principles:

+ We recognize the specific and critical role that sharks have in bringing balance to our seas and oceans.
+ We agree that the shark trade is directly endangering the health of the oceans.
+ We will never knowingly buy or sell shark products through our business activities.
